Liberty Township Fire Station and Salt Barn
Liberty Township, OH
In this rapidly expanding suburb of Cincinnati, response time is critical to the citizens’ safety and the preservation of real property. The Kleingers Group’s familiarity with the Township and experience with fire station design was a great asset and resulted in a state-of-the-art station completed on time and under budget.
Kleinger’s provided civil engineering services for this new $3 million, 11,400 SF fire station that triples the size of the original station constructed in 1954. Housing the Township’s volunteer department, the station provides an increased level of service to the northwest quadrant of the Township. It is capable of housing up to eight firefighters. The project included constructing a 2,500 SF salt storage facility to better serve the northern portion of the Township during inclement weather.
It required close communication with the owner and design team to accomplish their goals for the site plan. The site required several unique detailed design items, including shared access with the neighboring school, off-site sanitary extensions through the adjacent residential subdivision, a bike trail along a State Route, and a water quality measure to control saltwater runoff from the new salt barn on the project.
