Lebanon City Schools Districtwide Improvements

The Kleingers Group provided survey services, a traffic impact study, and civil site design related to improvements at five schools within the district. Kleingers retrofitted each existing detention with every site to improve water quality and meet EPA regulations to meet the City of Lebanon’s requirements.

The most significant design in this project was the new 124,000 SF Junior High school. Kleingers analyzed building locations for the new building construction, and a final site was selected for ease of construction while providing little interruption to the occupied school. Once construction was complete, the existing Junior High school served as swing space for the Berry Intermediate School students. At the same time, the historic Intermediate School underwent complete renovation and additions, including revised parking layouts, technology upgrades, and a 1,500 SF addition.

Included in the program, Kleingers performed site development for a new 10,000 SF addition to the High School that adds flexible classroom space for accommodating larger groups, a science lab, space for the Warrior Academy, and expansion of the weight room. Due to a higher than desired accident rate, we designed a new entrance from Drake Road to the High School that allows safer site distances to vehicles entering and exiting throughout the day.

At Bowman Primary School, Kleingers reconfigured the site to provide more parking and better queuing for parent drop-offs and bus traffic at various times during the school day. The site work included a new 16,000 SF Pre-K/Kindergarten wing addition, a new roof, and a playground. At Donovan Elementary School, we performed site modifications that reworked an existing bus drive and improved site circulation and design for a 21,000 SF addition that provides additional classroom space needed to eliminate the exterior modular classrooms.
