Carroll High School Athletic Complex
Dayton, OH
The Kleingers Group’s sports division, Sportworks Design, created an athletic campus plan to improve the athletic complex at Carroll High School. The master plan included potential enhancements such as new sports field lighting, new bleachers and press box, two new synthetic turf fields, a new running track, and a future fieldhouse.
This project was executed in multiple phases. The school’s first project tackled upgrading the field lighting. The new lighting is a four-pole Musco system with 70 feet tall poles. The second phase involved the conversion of the stadium field from natural grass to synthetic turf. The synthetic turf was installed over top of a shock absorption pad for added safety and enhanced playability. Several utilities under the field needed to be re-routed, including electric feed to press box and scoreboard and an irrigation feed to the natural grass practice fields north of the stadium. This phase included removing the existing cinder running track and installing a new all-weather running track and field events in the “D Areas.”
