Thornton’s Stores
Various Locations, USA
The Kleingers Group is actively assisting in constructing upwards of 15 new Thornton’s stores across Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee. There are two prototypes for the stores. One prototype is a 4,400 SF convenience store with a fuel canopy. The other is a travel center with an additional 3,500 SF for a quick-service restaurant and a second fueling canopy for diesel products. Sites range in size from just over 1 acre to more than 15 acres.
We partner with Thornton’s to provide a concept plan, a site investigation report (SIR), a preliminary plan set, a traffic impact study, construction document set that includes municipal engineering/stormwater management and landscape design. Kleingers moves the projects through permitting and bidding and continues to support Thornton’s with construction administration until the new facility opens for business.
Service station projects can often be challenging. The Kleingers Group has completed designs for Thornton’s service stations on sites that contained sinkholes and wetlands, required public road and utility relocation, and many other challenging issues.
