Silverton Area Small Plan

The Kleingers Group provided landscape architecture and master planning services to the Village of Silverton to promote a more active streetscape, provide civic green space, and create a more welcoming downtown core. The design process included multiple stages of community discussion, beginning with a streetscape walk consisting of village staff and focus group members garnering ideas for the future vision for the space. The public engagement continued with design charrettes and public open house presentations which were critical in creating the ideas and vision for the streetscape improvements.

The Kleingers Group brought the design to life using modern technology to create extensive computer-rendered 3D model videos. The rendered videos show the proposed improvements as if you were walking down the street. These videos helped raise public awareness for the plan, community support, and gain funding.

The master plan design included:

• A Silverton gateway arch
• A new pocket park
• Multiple streetscape parklets
• A civic green with a pavilion for concerts and community movie nights

Streetscape amenities include new streetscape pavement, pavers, landscape planters, seating, opportunities for future art installations, parking, access, and village branding.
